BMW works drivers celebrate class win in the Eifel.
In the Nürburgring 24-Hour Race, BMW WTCC drivers Jörg Müller and Augusto Farfus scored an impressive result. After 137 laps in the “Green Hell”, their BMW 320d crossed the finish line as best diesel car.
From their 47th grid position, Müller, Farfus and their Schubert Motorsport team-mates, Stian Sørlie and Fredrik Ekblom, quickly established among the top-20. The BMW 320d drivers successfully defended this position throughout the race. At the end of the day, they finished 13th in the overall rankings. At the same time, Müller/Farfus/Ekblom/Sørlie proved to be the measure of all things in the category S1 for diesel cars, in the 36th edition of the endurance classic.

On the seventh lap, Müller lapped the circuit in 9:33.033 minutes, thus setting the fastest lap time of the four drivers. Altogether, the BMW 320d contested the 24-Hour race at an average speed of 144 km/h.

At the same time, the team of Olaf Manthey – represented by the driver line-up Timo Bernhard, Marc Lieb, Romain Dumas and Marcel Tiemann – successfully defended the title with its Porsche 911 GT3 RSR.
