BMW Motorsport presents 2010 programme.
Having bid farewell to Formula One, BMW will intensify its involvement in GT and touring car racing in the forthcoming year. The company released details of its 2010 motorsport programme on Saturday at the BMW Sports Trophy Award Ceremony in Munich.

Turkington wins BMW Sports Trophy for second time.
Colin Turkington has added a second BMW Sports Trophy title to the one he claimed in 2007. The 27-year-old, who won this season’s British Touring Car Championship in a BMW 320si WTCC, was presented with a winner’s cheque for 30,000 Euros by BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen at Saturday’s award ceremony in Munich. With the BMW Sports Trophy the brand has been supporting privateers on a worldwide scale since the 1960s.

Bad luck for Müller and Milner in second Asian Le Mans Series race.
For more than two hours the BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team had been on the way to score its second victory in the Asian Le Mans Series, before a problem at the second pit stop dropped the BMW M3 GT2 down in the classification. At the end of the day, Dirk Müller and Tommy Milner finished fifth in Okayama after 110 laps. Dominik Farnbacher and Allan Simonsen secured victory in their Ferrari F 430. On Saturday Müller and Milner had won the maiden race of the new Asian Le Mans Series.

BMW M3 GT2 scores debut victory in the Asian Le Mans Series.
Dirk Müller (DE) and Tommy Milner (US) celebrated victory with the BMW M3 GT2 in the first round of the Asian Le Mans Series. At the “Okayama International Circuit” the drivers of the BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team put in a flawless performance and crossed the line as winners in the GT2 category after 113 laps, relegating Marc Lieb (DE) and Wolf Henzler (DE) in their Porsche 911 RSR to second with a gap of 0.292 seconds. Following the victory in the American Le Mans Series race in Road America (US), this is the second win for the new GT sports car, and also the car’s maiden win in Asia.

Engstler misses European title in Portugal.
Franz Engstler can look back on a successful European Touring Car Cup weekend. The BMW privateer twice finished second in Braga, Portugal, venue of the 2009 FIA ETCC, and only narrowly missed out on the title at the wheel of his BMW 320si WTCC.

BMW M3 GT2 scores podium finish at the Nürburgring.
Andy Priaulx and Dirk Müller claimed the first European podium finish for the BMW M3 GT2 in the VLN Endurance Championship. The two BMW works drivers finished the 33rd DMB 250-mile race in second place overall.

Successful European debut for BMW M3 GT2.
The BMW M3 GT2 entered its first race in Europe last weekend as part of the VLN Endurance Championship on the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife. BMW works drivers Jörg Müller and Augusto Farfus finished fourth overall in the GT sports car.

Turkington crowned British Touring Car Champion in BMW 320si.
For the first time since 1993 a BMW driver, in the form of Colin Turkington, has won the British Touring Car Championship. The Northern Irishman held his nerve in a thrilling finale to end the season ahead of Jason Plato (Chevrolet) and Fabrizio Giovanardi (Vauxhall), who finished second and third respectively.

Jörg Müller scores "Petit Le Mans" podium with the BMW M3 GT2.
For BMW works driver Jörg Müller the trip to the classic "Petit Le Mans" race in Road Atlanta turned out to be a successful one: In his American Le Mans Series comeback, the 2001 GT2 champion finished second in the GT2-category alongside fellow BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team drivers Dirk Müller and Tommy Milner in the BMW M3.

Priaulx and Müller in Petit Le Mans – Further outings for the BMW M3 GT2.
Fresh from competing in the FIA World Touring Car Championship’s rounds at Imola, BMW works drivers Andy Priaulx and Jörg Müller will this weekend boost the line-up of the BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team in the American Le Mans Series.
