On the road, the BMW M3 represents a true legend. And when it comes to motor racing, it’s a winner without equal. From 2009, BMW Motorsport is offering a new attractive vehicle within the scope of its customer racing programme: At the wheel of the BMW M3 GT4, independent racing drivers and teams have the opportunity to battle for points and race wins in series held according to the FIA GT4 regulations.
“In 2009, we will witness the BMW M3 racing not only for the BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team in the American Le Mans series. The new BMW M3 GT4 now also provides private teams with numerous opportunities,” says BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen. “For over 50 years customer racing has been a cornerstone of BMW’s motorsport programmes. After all, what better global ambassador for the performance pedigree of BMW cars than a privateer who is competing for victory in a BMW vehicle.”
To date, BMW M3 vehicles have secured more than 1,500 race wins in a wide range of championships. The BMW M3 GT4 will surely continue this stunning streak of success in the GT4 category.

The cars are the product of a long design and development phase and only the most reliable components – which include excellent performance value and a good cost-performance ratio – make it to the track.
