From the BMW Welt to the World Final.On their way to the Formula BMW World Final, Formula BMW Asia drivers Jazeman Jafaar and Jack Lemvard made a detour to Munich to marvel at the BMW Welt. |

| Jazeman Jafaar and Jack Lemvard both contested the 2007 Formula BMW Asia season. Now, the two drivers are approaching their season highlight: the Formula BMW World Final, to be held at Valencia. On their way to the Spanish metropolis, located on the Mediterranean, Jafaar and Lemvard made a stop in Germany. First, they travelled to Augsburg, to have their Formula BMW FB02 seats adapted at Team AM-Holzer Rennsport GmbH.
Jafaar, who was narrowly beaten in the battle for the 2007 Formula BMW Asia title, says: "The team, which is partnered by Petronas, is a very professional squad. I have been here since Thursday and it has turned out to be great experience. I learned a lot during the course of the past days. Everything is perfectly prepared for the World Final and now we have to wait and see how we will deliver." Lemvard also looks forward to the season highlight at Valencia. "It will be great. Jazeman and I have already been team-mates in Asia. Therefore, we know each other very well and we are going to help one another," he says. To have the chance of battling it out with the top drivers from the other Formula BMW series, in the BMW World Final, represents a huge inducement for Jafaar. "It’s just great to meet the drivers who have prevailed in the other championships," the Malaysian says. "For us Asian drivers, Valencia represents virgin soil. It will be interesting to meet up with the top drivers from Germany, the USA and Great Britain. It’s a good opportunity to form friendships and - of course - to compete against one another. I’m going to gather a lot of new experiences at Valencia, and I hope to secure a good result, too." Before hitting the road to Spain, however, the two team-mates made a detour to Munich. There, they visited the newly opened BMW Welt. "That was cool," says Jafaar. "We were given a warm welcome as Formula BMW drivers. It was a great experience as the people deal with one another in a very open style here." |
