Promoting talent at the centre of BMW commitment.
The promotion of promising talent is one of three pillars, upon which BMW's commitment to international motor racing is based.
"We are very happy with the BMW Sauber F1 Team’s second season and can be justly proud of our achievements," says BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen. "Additionally, we experienced another successful year in the World Touring Car Championship. Formula BMW is also very important. It offers young drivers who want to move up from karting the ideal opportunity to take the next step in their career."

The concept of supporting young drivers in Formula BMW is aimed at talents from the age of 15. The youngsters are not only required to prove their skills against the competition on the track, but also receive an additional comprehensive and tailor-made education. At this racing school, the drivers learn about car set-up, driving technique and tactics, fitness, and nutrition along with how to handle sponsors and the media, among other things.

They are supported throughout the unique education and coaching programme by experienced instructors. Jörg Müller, who drives for BMW Team Germany in the WTCC, has been involved for years at the licence and safety courses at the Formula BMW Racing Center in Valencia. "My advice to the boys is always that they should not get ahead of themselves. They should always keep their feet on the ground. Then the success will take care of itself," says the BMW driver.
