| On Saturday and Sunday, the three-time World Champion abandoned his touring car – for a short while – to get behind the wheel of a BMW Sauber F1 Team single-seater and entertain the crowds with a spectacular demonstration. An hour prior to Saturday’s qualifying session, Priaulx completed five laps of the 3.703-kilometre track and on Sunday he repeated the spectacle following the two WTCC rounds.
"To drive a current Formula One car round such a historic circuit was a great experience and I can't thank BMW enough for letting me have this opportunity," said a delighted Priaulx. During his outings, the reigning champion stopped in front of the BMW Motorsport Hospitality to entertain the guests by doing some "donuts" – then doing a few more for the fans on the pit straight. "I hope the fans had fun," he concluded. |
