"I hope the fans had fun."
At Brands Hatch, BMW Team UK’s Andy Priaulx was responsible for the arguably most spectacular moments witnessed during the course of the 2008 season’s seventh WTCC weekend.
On Saturday and Sunday, the three-time World Champion abandoned his touring car – for a short while – to get behind the wheel of a BMW Sauber F1 Team single-seater and entertain the crowds with a spectacular demonstration. An hour prior to Saturday’s qualifying session, Priaulx completed five laps of the 3.703-kilometre track and on Sunday he repeated the spectacle following the two WTCC rounds.

"To drive a current Formula One car round such a historic circuit was a great experience and I can't thank BMW enough for letting me have this opportunity," said a delighted Priaulx. During his outings, the reigning champion stopped in front of the BMW Motorsport Hospitality to entertain the guests by doing some "donuts" – then doing a few more for the fans on the pit straight. "I hope the fans had fun," he concluded.
